Lenka Kubelová: Fermenting Stories (workshop)

Snehta Residency and artist Lenka Kubelová are organising one day workshop on 12th December 2024 in the the context of the SAIR (Sustainability is in the AiR) program.

At "Fermenting Stories" workshop we will delve into practices of fermenting: together we will prepare autumn kimchi, fermented beetroots and other lacto-fermented vegetable combinations. We will also learn how to make a kombucha batch, ideal for a unique beverage. Through storytelling we will remember the role of pickling and fermenting in our cultural and family backgrounds.

The workshop is intentioned for absolute beginners ("my first ferment") as well as for already experienced ones.

Vegetables and spices will be ready at spot. Suggested donation is 5–10 Euro for the ingredients. Feel encouraged to bring your own choice of the veggies you wish to ferment!

Lenka Kubelová is currently a resident artist at Snehta Residency organisation, during the second phase of the SAiR program. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Through fermenting projects and fermentation lab she discovers relationships with non-humans and finds inspiration for social change toward more holistic systems. She believes in the power of subtle actions. She also works as an educator, editor and gardener.
