After Dinner, interview with Christina Zampoulaki
Greek-American artist Christina Zampoulaki (@christina.zampulaki), beneficiary of the SAiR program (@sair.eu23) co-funded by Creative Europe, has developed her research and project, "After Dinner", between January and April 2024 at the Center for Artists in Residence at Matadero Madrid.
During her residency, and through the evocative and synaesthetic potential of food, Christina Zampoulaki has reflected on the impact that the way we feed ourselves has on climate change. The critical and speculative exploration of food politics, the aesthetics of abundance, the contingencies of working with living matter and the communicative power of food, are the basis of this stimulating project in development where individual and collective rituals are put in value from a sensorial and convival experience.
In MataderoMadrid's YouTube channel you can watch the whole interview from which we have extracted this small fragment. You can learn more about "After Dinner", the processual practice of the artist, her concerns about sustainability and the drifts of her project in the following link.
